Psychiatrist

Full Time1st Shift 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMMonday-Friday3 months contract with potential for extension
 looking for a contracted psychiatrist for the Inpatient Treatment Unit (ITU) located at CRMHC. The contracted psychiatrist would be a member of the CRMHC Medical Staff and report directly to the CRMHC Medical Director. The ITU is a sixteen-bed inpatient psychiatric treatment program. There is no on-call. The psychiatrist functions as the clinical head of the unit’s treatment team.  The treatment team is made up of a Program Director, nursing staff, social workers, a substance abuse counselor, rehab. therapists, and a psychologist.  There is also a primary care physician who completes histories and physicals and works with the unit psychiatrist in addressing the clients’ acute and chronic medical conditions. The psychiatrist completes admission psychiatric evaluations, heads the treatment team meetings, reviews and signs the clients’ treatment plans, writes physician orders, documents progress notes, and completes components of the discharge documentation.  Experience as an attending psychiatrist working with an interdisciplinary team on an inpatient psychiatric unit, treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and experience with using Medication Assisted Treatments (MAT) for substance use disorders are preferred qualifications, but not required.
